At the Farnborough Air Show in London, Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of RTX, revealed that SMBC Aviation Capital has made a significant commitment for additional aircraft orders. The aircraft lessor has confirmed an order for 22 firm Airbus A320neo family aircraft, which will be powered by Pratt & Whitney’s GTF engines. This announcement builds on a previous agreement made in 2021, resulting in a total of 42 firm orders for the GTF-powered aircraft.

SMBC Aviation Capital is recognized as one of the largest lessors in the world for GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft. Overall, the firm now oversees a portfolio of 142 such aircraft.
