BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager, has confirmed that the Trump rally shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, appeared in one of their 2022 ads. Crooks, who authorities identified as the shooter who injured former President Donald Trump, briefly appeared in an ad that featured a teacher from Bethel Park High School. It was reported that Crooks was not compensated for his appearance in the ad, which also included other unpaid students. BlackRock has since removed the ad and stated that they will provide the clip to authorities.

The company did not provide further details about the footage featuring Crooks but described the assassination attempt on Trump as “abhorrent.” Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022 and had received a $500 award from the National Math and Science Initiative that year. Following the incident at the Trump rally where Crooks opened fire on the former president, authorities shot him dead. Trump later confirmed that he had been hit by at least one bullet in the ear, causing it to bleed.

BlackRock, which manages approximately $9.1 trillion in assets, is set to unveil its Q2 earnings on July 15th. The company’s press teams have not responded to requests for comment on the situation involving Crooks outside regular business hours. The FBI has classified the shooting incident at the Trump rally as an assassination attempt.
